Hi, I just bought a new 512 SDRAM. I already had 2x 128. According to the ASUS motherboard should be able to handle up to 3 Gb. Now here's the problem. When I put in the 512, computer already crashes after the memory test
. It shows to have 1g+, but only has 512. I also tried all 3 rams and then it shows, well, the 1g+256. Do I have a bad new mem, or could ther be a problem with the BIOS?By the way. My system: P4 1.5 GHz. i845 chipset. Asus AX4BS-Pro motherboard. Can anybody help me out here? Thanks |

Try using that one stick of 512 alone, and see if it boots. if thats the case, one of your ram slots may have a problem or incompatibility.

One or more of the 512 sticks are probably bad, and I believe your board is an AOpen not an Asus
