Hello everyone!
I am interested in removing from my hard drive and safely storing a good portion of 1400+ music files while maintaining reasonable access for burning mixed cd's from the storage device. The USB memory plug in devices are looking good.....any particular one the best choice? Other types preferred? Thanks everyone! Biff.

A standard Maxtor 250GB MyBook should be good.

Are you looking for flash drives for portable hard discs?
If you want to archive your music I suggest getting a portable 2.5" hard drive. they come in rather large capacities, but doesn't require annoying power bricks to run. If you want to bring your music around with you, can you get a flash drive. I'm pretty sure you can pick up a 16GB or 32GB one for less than $50.

Wow thanks for all the reply's.
More specifically, the music files total 8.75GB. When they are moved would they stay in their current compressed file type? I am not looking for portability simply safe storage with easy access to individual files, would this make an external hard drive the best choice? Now that i think of it, i am getting into Digital photography and should consider these future files as well. What do you think? Thanks again everyone! Biff
