yes praetor, but when you have little or no knowlege in an area, and you are following instructions, the person may figure its obvious to buy a power cord, but you may not know you need one, and you have a much higher chance of making a expensive mistake, such as not putting on a heatsink, or buying the wrong processor for a motherboard. computers are very sensitive and even a little mistake can cause huge problems. i waited to build my computer untill i was sure i knew enough and wouldnt make a mistake.

The instructions (1) come with the processor and mobo, (2) tell you to put the heatsink on

Furtheremore, see this if theres any confusion left

some oem processers come without instructions and a heatsink, and people may buy it because its cheaper

calm down man! I knew i needed one for my cpu just didnt know it was called a heatsink, I always called it just a cpu cooler.

So any1 know of a good heatsink that could cool a p4 3.2Ghtz to 3.4Ghtz and under $50??

I've been trying to find a guide that explains everything about building a computer. Do u know of any?

that isnt that much of a overclock to me. but.... if u want one thats like.. 50. here:
