I know how to install RAM so i went out and upgraded my current 1gb (512MBx2 DDR2 266mhz) to 2GB (1GB x 2 PC2-5300 333mhz) i installed the new ram sticks in 2 blue slots, booted up, pc deteced it well BOOM! errors with my game, and other applications. Mostly "Run dll as an App" and memory could not be written or read errors.
![]() After feeling lost of what i have done. i research the internet for clues(IE kept closing down after 5 mins so had to be quick) they say do the "sfc /scannow" to help replace corrupt files, but when i run it my desktop goes to windows 98 theme and restarts the PC. ![]() Now i feel i have no choice but to put old RAM back in. I do this and everything still has its errors but the PC doesnt restart from blue screens errors. I now reinstall or windows back to its orgrinal settings to when i bought the PC but keeping my user settings and programms i had. I notice my GPU control panel wouldn't open so i reinstalled the drivers and to my shock it worked again. I have lost all confidence in installing RAM again but i wish i could find out why the RAM upgrade pissed my windows up. I have a 8800gts 640mb and AMD 5000+ 2.6mhz... Please help
