Does anyone know how to help me set up a network so that a few computers can connect to the internet using the same dial up connection? Is there a specific type of router or hub that I would need?
All the computers would be running Windows 98 and/or XP. Thanks! |

any router will be able to do this, however are you on dial up or broadband. I dont know if you can use a router on a dial up line. Also are you wanting to use wires or wireless networking?

You can buy bluetooth dial-up routers such as this one, http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=59640 alternatively you can share your internet through ICS, which would be a cheaper option but you would require to have the Host PC turned on for any other computer to connect to the internet

you can use any hub or switch to share your internet through other network computers. since your in a dial up mode, you can configure your dial up settings to internet connection sharing. got to dial up properties and then in advance option select or check (allow other network users to connect through this computers etc.
simple as that. hope it''ll help you |
