I just bought a one touch 4 320gb external drive and was wondering if it was ok to unplug and disconnect the unit from my PC after I have backed up my pics and music to it. I really dont want to leave it attached to my pc, I only want to connect it when I need to add stuff to it. will this be ok or will I lose data. Also How do you run the program to use the safety drill feature? the safety drill feature is included with the drive, but how do you use it. Thanks for your help.

If you want to use the software that comes with your hardware then I suggest you read the manual that comes with. I tend to not use any software that comes with external drives. I don't care for alot of software like that since it doesn't ever seem to work like "standard" software does. I actually like SyncToy for back up if you want to do it manually. Yes I know SyncToy can be scheduled but it never seems to work well and you need to use a password on the account for it work. Sync Back works better for automated back ups but is a pay program.
