Amanda Slayer(Tue Jan 27 2009 10:15:31 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time))>

Thank you for choosing Time Warner Cables' Online Chat. My name is Amanda Slayer. Please give me a moment while I access your account information.

Amanda Slayer(Tue Jan 27 2009 10:16:35 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time))>

How may I assist you?

evan(Tue Jan 27 2009 09:17:17 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time))>

i moved recently and when the guy came to hook up the system in the new place the box wouldn't respond to the remote when i hit "info" or tried to go into the dvr or anything...it would only change channels

We are experiencing higher than usual service times. Please wait and an analyst will be with you shortly.

DirecTV has pretty good customer service, from my experience. Every cable company I've dealt with, mainly Comcast, has always been a pain in the ass. AT&T sucks too. i'm with a local company called Surewest for my internetz. They're awesome, probably because they're not so big.

Maybe try to call them. They'll prolly charge you to come out again.

haha, i just thought it was funny that their service disconnected every 2 seconds on them too!

yeah the problem is annoying only cause i can't record stuff, but i don't mind too terribly much. i try to watch the stuff when i can and if i have to catch a re-run no biggy i guess.

The only shows I watch nowadays are the ones I record. I don't even know what time they come on. Do you think it's a problem with the remote or the box? Do you have buttons on the box that give you record and menu options?

well when i first moved the remote would make the box light up like it received the signal just didn't know what to do with it. then i got a brand new box and now the buttons do show a screen, but the screens all say the same thing "to be announced" or "service will be with you momentarily" but of course that has been since saturday so obviously there is another problem.

i tried 3 different outlets in the house and they all have the same result.
