I currently have an old HP scanjet 3300c that has stopped working. It is usb connected to a HP pavilion Zt1170 laptop with XP pro as an O/S with S/P3. I uninstalled all software and re-installed thru HP.com but states digital signature is required and says must say yes for the digital signature.I never get the promt to click yes, so installation is not correct. The solution on their website is delete any files that is associated with thye scanner and I did. Next is to install in safe minimal mode from the english folder on the original disk and I did. I see new hardware installed but still the computer will not see the unit. The scan software launches but when you try and scan it hangs. If you check task manager........ you see not responding. This all seems to have to do with the digital signature which I assume has to do with lovely microsoft. Can anyone help or have any suggestions beside buying a new scanner.

I tried driverguide.com but could only find a .sys file so I guess im going to have to comply and some buck and purchase a new non hp scanner. Thanks for the tip anyway
