The video head is almost gone on my Sony DCRHC14E camcorder which has been this way for the last 4-5 years. I want to somehow restore all the videos which are on my tapes but I cannot play the videos on the camcorder. If I connect it to the computer is there software which can help me restore the footage from my camcorder onto my hard drive without the camera's video head having to recognize it?
All help would be highly appreciated! ![]() EDIT: If I cannot do it I will not bother installing the driver and trying it, so I'd like to find out if it's possible first. Thanks again! |

I highly loud it as the video has to go through the camera before entering the computer. If the camera doesn't recognize the tape, the computer will probably not either.
