I have an ATI 9600XT 256MB AGP video card, and i wanted to know if there was a way i can overclock the memory, since all i was able to do was click on "enable overdrive" and it only overclocked the core. (I have the current software from the ATI website) So i was wondering if there was a way i could manually configure these, and if so, what is the max that i could do it at before my video card becomes unstable or fries?
And just a note, there were no other options where i cut off.

ive got a a 9800pro 128mb and i looked around for overclocking software and i found 2 that stood out from the rest. The first is RIVAtuner and the other is ATI tool. I'm not sure what site i got them from but you should find them if u google them.
They are both very similar programs. But I think ATItool is a bit better. And as for frying the card, i dont think its possible. If u overclock too much it just freezes up your system and your normal settings will come back.

I tried the ATI Tool, and it looked like it would be a nice program, but when i adjust the settings (even to only a megahert or 2) i press set clock, and it looks like it worked, but then it doesnt do anything, i go back into it and its the default. And twice i did the max core test, and all it did was go so high until my video card stopped responding, then the monitor went blank, so i couldnt see what the max score was. Im going to try the other program instead, im still looking for suggestions as for the ati overdrive utility.

ATi Tool is great, it's been awhile since I've used it but I seem to remember there was a button you had to click in order to save the overclock settings. Anyhow which ever tool you use remember you should turn off overdrive. Also although it's more likely that you'll freeze your computer etc. by cranking up the settings too high it's also very easy to totally fry your card and in some (rare) cases damage your motherboard and other components by frying your videocard. Don't overdue it with the overclock and keep setting it up just a couple of MHz at a time until the card becomes a bit unstable then back it off a couple of MHz and test again till stable.

i'll just keep it as it is, the ati overdrive utility overclocks the core from 500Mhz to 527Mhz, i still want to oc' the memory speed. so i'll try the other tool.
