Default CD Emulation with out installing

I was wondering if there was any CD emulation software out there that did not require being installed and could be run from a CD or DVD.

Just use a virtual drive (explained in more detail in the CD/DVD 101) one of the better (and free) ones is Daemon tools

Ah yeah reading the question again, thats not possible since any "thing" that creates a cd/dvd emulation service will have to create a virtual device meaning you'll have to install something. (why such an unorthodox restriction btw?)

btw: nero doesnt make isos. it makes nrgs (granted they are mode1/2048 but still)

I've got a bunch of software and stuff on CDs that I figured I might beable to create images of them and store them on DVDs.

I just thought it would be really cool if I might beable to come up with a program that would mount the image and install the software automatically with out me having to worry about what disk emulation software I have installed. This could make reformating my computer and getting the software reinstalled go a lot smoother.

Well again, since its actual devices (virtual or otherwise) yer installing, its not doable without some software. You can however make ghost images and burn them to DVDs or whatnot and that will solve your problem all in one
