I have a lot of experience with computers. I've worked on them my whole life pretty much. I'm very young and naive I'll be honest. I want to try starting my own computer repair/building/customizing/etc company, but I have no idea where to begin. I've started a website on a free web building company just to play with the ideas. I have this system (below) listed for this price (below). I have no idea what's a good price, but thinking about the time it takes for me to buy the parts, build the computer, and install the software, I spend around 4 hours on a build. What's an appropriate amount of money to assume for myself for the work done? I assume around $60-100 for the work, but I'm not sure what would be fair. Also, are there any "miracle websites" for pricing. I use pricewatch.com and they seem pretty good, but I'm curious if there's any place that's better, or if there's a way to buy straight from the manufacturers? My website if anyone wants to help me with it is www.jeffscomputerservices.webs.com Anyway, here's my cheapest build listed. I have a very high priced gaming build and a lower priced gaming build, but I'm working on building up my site more.

I think it is priced about right. Here's the low end machine I sell without monitor or O/S http://www.computerhq.us/eshop/10exp...e=SYS2BUSINESS
You won't get very far buying parts from retailers, however. You will always be either over priced or under profitable. |
