Default Java won't install

Hi guys

I've recently been trying to install some software using Daemon Tools (to install from an image).

The instructions advise me to uninstall Java before I install the program as otherwise it will conflict. I have done this but when I then try to install the program I get the 'Aborted: Java failed to successfully install....' message and the installation aborts.

It's really annoying me now and I don't know what to do??...

Is there anyway to remove all traces of Java first perhaps? Or to check what version the program is trying to install?

Thanks in advance

take a look here from Sun Java. It has info on uninstalling. also leads a trail back to microsoft for a removal tool. http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

also if you uninstalled properly you might want to look in program files and delete all traces. also run : %appdata% (delete occurences) if any. theres also a regcleaner that may help ccleaner.com (its free).
