DMA Problems HELP!!!

I have a rig that is now 3 months old but i am still to resolve my dvd playback issues i've had from the start.

I have an AMD 64 3000+, 1024gb ram, ASUS K8N socket 754 MOBO, Liteon 1653S DVD-RW. When i try to playbac a DVD using power DVD 5.0 the film freezes and skips, and i cannot use the shuttle function or the progress bar to skip through the film. After several seconds of glitching if i check device manager the channel reverts back to PIO only despite having been on use DMA where available previously, and there is a warning box that says the settings have been downgraded.

I have tried different IDE cables and have also tried it both connected to the primary ide slot (as slave) and as master on secondary ide slot but the problem continues.

I do not get these problems when using Windows media player.

Please can someone shed some light on this as i believe i have tried all obvious possibilities.

1. Open RegEdit
2. Find the following KEY:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\ Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\000x

3 The last four digits will be 0000, 0001, 0002, 0003, and so on.
4 Under each key, delete all occurences of the following values:

MasterIdDataChecksum
SlaveIdDataChecksum

Now reboot your pc and windows will redetect your DMA settings

I have actually done this in the past and the problem still persists, I just don't understand why i can use Windows media player without any problems but as soon as i use Power DVD it locks up and resets it to PIO mode.

Is DMA enabled in BIOS?

I have checked BIOS and DMA is definitely enabled, I have since installed Win DVD which runs everything perfectly, i guess there must be something conflicting with Power DVD itself i just can't see what it can be.

Its not about DMA!!!..just remove the IDE driver from NVIDIA..I mean when you are installing motherboard driver..just uncheck the IDE driver and you are done..and if you have already install that driver..just remove that from add/remove program options.
