What do you guys think of the PentiumD? Just wanted some pros & cons...

Pros
  • 2 cores (ok that's not really a pro yet but it will be eventually)
  • not very expensive
Cons
  • 2 Prescott Cores
  • need a new motherboard to use (not supported by 915/925 chipsets)
  • Athlon X2 performs better (expected, 2 prescotts vs 2 athlon64 cores)
  • HyperThreading is disabled (except for the Extreme Edition)

whats is the best price difference on pentiumDs and X2s anyway? Which is offering best bang for buck (pound)?

The Pentium D was/is 1/2 the price of the X2 (at release date anyway)
