Default Long boot-up time followed by RPC

Yesterday F-Secure did an update after which it told me to reboot. I didn't right then, but after about 20 mins my net connection went dead. So I rebooted. The system took about 10 mins to get to the desktop, followed by the RPC (Remote Procedure Call) shutdown causing a reboot loop.

I've read in other posts here that RPC had earlier been caused by a worm, but Symantec's scan for it turned up nothing. Also, the folder containing my network connections is empty for some reason, and F-Secure doesn't load anymore. I've succeded in supressing the RPC reboot, but as for the long boot-up time I'm clueless. Any ideas...?
