Smile Wifi without router?

Hi, i would like to set up a wireless network but do not want to buy a router, is it possible to do this just by buying 2 usb dongles, as i only want to be able to access files wirelessly on another PC? thanks

use a crossover cable, cheaper... Simpler!

If you do want to stick to wifi, yes, you should be able to do that. I forgot what that mode is right off, but there's suppose to be some way to do so. Heh, just never tried it myself.

I already have a crossover cable, and would like to create a wireless netowrk, and since i originally posted this i have searcher the web and found that it is something like ad-hoc mode
