Default Automatic Motion of mouse pointer

I'm having this annoying problem with one of the users in our company who has Dell inspiron 4100. Mouse keeps on moving automaticall on the screen. It was moving towards right, and now towards left. I have uninstalled mouse, reinstalled it. tried to adjust the motion properties of mouse, but nothing seems to work. Anyone has any idea whats causing it?

help!

the trackpoint may be buggered. Try disabling it and using the touchpad for a while. See if the problem persists

the trackpoint on both of my computers. my mouse wasn't working to hot on my desktop computer (the mouse couldn't move left but was stuck move right and did that automaticaly) so i figured i would work on my laptop and the laptop mouse started doing the same thing, mouse wouldn't move left and was stuck on the right side of screen. after awhile i can move the mouse freely again but when i start if shoots over to the right side again and won't move. so yeah the trackpoint is screwed.
