Hard Drive cloning HELP!

hi all, im having issues cloning my laptop's hard drive. i'll start from the begining - i made an image of my original hard drive (a WD 120gb 5.4k rpm by using it as an external hdd and copying it to another computer with Drive Image XML. i then mounted that image (recovery partition and all) to my brand new WD 250gb 7200 rpm hdd. i put the HDD in the lappy, and it comes up with a boot error and asks for the vista cd. i can figure out what im doing wrong... i have the partition marked as active... argh!!!

does anyone have a suggestion?? btw, my specs are in my sig

throw in a boot disk? with acronis disk director or something similar and see what's going on?
