Default Windows Vista Service Package 1 Services Problem

My laptop for some reason today has been running very slowly and then started to go incredibly slow. Just switching programs caused it to slow to a crawl. So I started it in safe mode and it worked fine. So I checked what services the safe mode had not started and disabled them all. This was about 80 services. I restarted my computer and it works now but now I have to find out which one of those services failed causing all of my problems. Any suggestions on how to go about doing this because I really don't want to go through each of them and restart my computer to try each new one I enable. Even if I did that and found the broken service, how would I repair it? Also for some reason I no longer have an system restore points.
