Default AMD 3000 or 3500?

i was looking at the AMD 64 3000+ for $147, and the AMD 64 3500+ for $267, now my question is, is it worth it to spend that much more to get the higher end model?

Default No

I think not. I am saying this because the 3000+ is so easy to overclock (and safe) to the 3500+ level. The performance difference is not astronomical and therefore not justified, in my view, by the price jump.

the 3200+ is also pretty far above the 3000+ in terms of price, i think its either at the high end of $100 or the low end of $200.

newegg prices
3000 = $147
3200 = $193
3500 = $267

You were contemplating either the 3500 or the 3000, i just thought you might consider a happy medium :p
