Default Computer fail...

I didn't know what section this came under so i decided to put it in memory and hard drives because it mentioned it in the problem.

I apologise for any noob-iness in advance i'm not great with computers...

But basically i have a problem with my pc, my pc will close down and then stay on a blue screen, it defines it as a windows error and it mentions it could possibly be hard drive corruption... What can i do to fix this?

AND

I also have another problem, it's unrelated to the first one, because this started happening long before the problem i mentioned before. But whenever i "Shutdown" my pc, it will restart instead of actually turning off, this gets really frustrating and ends up with me having to turn it off by the plug which i'm sure damages it, how can i fix this?

Anyone that can help me fix any of these problems, i'll appreciate it so much, cheers.
