Default Looking for a new computer

Hey everyone I'm getting a new comp soon which i will use for studying and a some gaming here and there. Right now I'm looking at the sony VAIO FW series. I haven't heard much about them but they look solid on paper.So could anyone with VAIO experience or suggestions in general help me out please. Budget is 1,300.

key tips for quick sellection
more processor speed... with multiple cores
more ram and RAM upgradiblity... prefer ddr3 modules if they are available in your area..
more memory on graphics card on board... go with a nvidia or ati....

decide what u have to do with ur pc mostly... either its gaming or some other ...
then it will be possible for us to suggest u more precisely... and one thing more add the configuration of system you are thinking off.. if you can wait wait for windows 7 as os or else go with a vista...

Sony is usually more expensive, and it did not have good video card for gaming...
Asus laptop generally provide better value for gaming laptop

hi i am using sony VAIO , Its working too good , and i am too much satisfied with the after sales services of the company ,It my personal suggestion you can go for it .
