Default new video card question

couple of questions...

1) if the max i can set the agp speed to in bios is 4x, is that the highest my motherboard supports?

2) if question 1 is true that my motherboard's max is 4x, would it be a waste for me to invest in one of the fastest cards such as 6800gt?

3) if question 2 is true, then what would be a better option for me? 9800xt? 6600gt? what?

1) Probably, but to be sure look on the manufacturers website, and look up you board

2) There s not too much difference between 4x and 8x (not like between 2x and 4x)
so it is really still worth getting the 6800gt

No, the cards excellent compression system and frame rendering rates will boost speed anyway, definitely get the 6800gt

Running at 4X AGP (compared to 8X) isnt as big a handicap as you might think (i.e., you'll still be able to play say Doom3 at whatever settings you would have with AGP 8X)

Not to be mean but
1. What? Huh?

No you ease up man, to get a few minor things wrong is one thing. But why claim stuff like you've done above if your not absolutely sure it's actual facts? The way your described it made it sound like your pretty convinced.

Case closed.
