sorry, but upgrading that pc will not be worth it. however, if you build a whole new system,, that could work out. but only if you still can activate windows so that a new OS will not be nessacary.

Oh is that so......so it would be better to just buy a new computer then?
hmmmm it might be cheaper to just replace things that needs to be replaced than to buy a new one? if so, which hardware do i have to replace? like motherboard, etc. |

If you just want to upgrade your old machine, you will need a new motherboard, CPU and Ram that is compatible with the board. Most new motherboards comes with integrated video card. Unless you are into gaming, you will need a good video card. Also check on the HD connection if it's ATA or SATA. you might need an adapter for the connection.

your best bet is to wait a while, save up a bit more and you would be able to build a brand new com.

yeah, that would work. However, I highly reccomend you build it yourself. If you want you can take your old hard drive and dvd drive and use those to save yourself some money.

Up that 9400gt to a 9600gt or 9800gt.
Or an Ati Radeon HD 4870 if you prefer Ati. I have to say, good choice on everything else.

I agree, but a 4870 is a huge jump up in both performance and price from the 9X00GT series. Maybe a 4770/4830/4850. They're more affordable cards for the budget minded gamer.
