Problems with connecting

i have two computers one up stairs and one down stairs the one upstairs has the router and the cable modem while the one downstairs recieves it from a wireless receiver, well yesterday i re installed windows xp on my down stairs computer and now I cant get the internet to work on my computer up stairs but the one downstairs is now running through an ethernet cable from my router..so my question is how come my computer downstairs works but my computer up stairs doesnt work? it is not recieving any connection its sending out things but it wont recieve

There is a service you may need to start... wcz service i believe it is called... Try that
