i don't know why but everytime i start my computer there seems to be new things going on at startup. i do i stop them from running. i have a panda antivirus and a mcafree antispyware installed and i keep running scans but nothing comes up.

I've never heard of Mcafree's spyware... Try Adaware instead. Nothing to loose, I mean it's free
Also, you could try Hijackthis and give us a list of what all's loading so we could tell you what you could erase.
