I'm going to be getting a new graphics card now and I had some questions. My top choice right now is the ATI X700 Pro (AGP). I will defenitely be wanting to play battlefield 2 when I get this, but the list of supported cards reads like this..
- ATI X700 Pro (PCIe) So they say that the PCI card will work, so my question is, will the AGP card work just as well? Another card I was looking at was the ATI 9800 Pro which happens to be the same price as the X700 Pro. I was wondering how the cards stacked up against eachother. Also, on the other end, I was wondering how the Nvidia 6600 stacked up against the X700 because those two seem to be pretty close competitors. Any insight is welcome. |

If you can find a agp version it will work fine but I not sure they make x700 in agp at all. What you need depends on your motherboard. If you have a agp slot in your motherboard then it very very likly you do not have a pci-e slot. Quote:
http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2297&p=2 as you see in that link almost always the 6600GT have a consiable advantage over the x700 pro. I would definally choose the 6600GT over the x700 pro. The 6600GT comes in both agp and pci-e I know for sure. pick the one that works with your motherboard Quote:
This shows the 6600GT beats the radeon 9800 pro almost always. In the test done there it won or tied every benchmark.

Alright I've been looking around and I'm going to buy the 6600GT, but it seems as if there's different companies or something that offer it. Is there any difference between the 6600GT for the different companies? The one I'm looking at is made by eVGA- would it work fine? http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/eVGA-...oductDetail.do
