Exclamation CiD help? Vista.

I'm on Windows Vista and recently my boyfriend was downloading something and now I have CiD pop up.

I've looked at a lot of forums but most of them only work with XP. So I'm having a lot of trouble getting rid of it. If I go Remove Programmes I click uninstall/change but nothing happens. It's really bugging me.

Any help would be great!

Thanks.

Yes I do.

Its part of either msn messenger or yahoo messenger, look in add/remove programs. Look for the Yahoo and MSN next to one of them you'll see (CiD) uninstall this one thing.

Regards,

I have a CiD Help programme but when I click uninstall/change it doesn't do anything and I don't have what you said, there's nothing like that on there.

Hi,

I did a bit of research for you. The CiD program is bundled with MSN Messenger plus. The below will help you remove it, but from what i've read its not the only software that uses this CiD.

Uninstall Messenger Plus using Add/Remove programs in your Control Panel. You do NOT need to uninstall the Windows or MSN Messenger itself. Uninstall anything that says "CiD" or "Sponser".

If this doesn't work then do a spyware/virus scan, this might pick it up and remove it. If you don't have any spyware/virus program, i would recommend http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html This is quite likely to detect and remove it.

See how you get on.

Dan
