Default updating computer for games

i like to play world of warcraft on the computer i have but it seems to lag alot. i would also like to be able to play games like half life 2 on it but my requirments are far below the minimum to play. my specs:

Processor Intel Pentium 4 1993MHz
Display Card Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV
Memory 512MB
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP
Free Disk Space 10.79GB
Display Card Memory 64MB
Display Driver Version 6.14.10.4020
DirectX Version 9.0c
Optical Drive CD/DVD
Sound Card SoundMAX Digital Audio

my friend told me to get more ram for playing WOW but i have no clue what hese talking about. also i dont have a clue on what kind of graphic card i would need. im looking to spend under $500 for all of this also. thanks in advance

you would need another 512 memory (ram) and a 128mb (at least) graphics card
world of warcraft is online right? beucase if it is you may need to also upgrade your internet connection

1. WoW doesnt require 1GB of RAM....
2. While the more memoery the better, a 128MB card may or may not be better than a 64MB one.
3. Yes it is an online only game
