So I have a very cheap digital camcorder from Vivitar, but when I try to transfer files from the camera to the PC, although it comes up as AVI. format, all and any programs cannot open it. I have tried converting the video using "Bink and Smacker" video conversion software but all I get is a white screen playing for the same length as the video.
Vivitar support page doesnt even recognise the DVR 595 as a camcorder in its range and so no troubleshooting advice is available there. Searching for "DVR 595 problems" "troubleshooting" "issues" etc. gets me no where, it's almost as if this camcorder doesn't exist because it's so awful. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Right, a cd should have come with the camcorder, it will have the drivers necessary for playing the files, insert it and install them then try playing the files again
