I want to play an AVI file but it can't play it. I'm pretty positive it has something to do with my codecs installed. when I check my codecs with Codec sniper of Sherlock, it says no codecs are broken. CodecViewr v1.5 says the audio codec is "DVM" or "AC3" and the video codec: "Unknown FourCC : XVID".
any suggestions?

Got a codec site about halfway down this page
http://www.hazza.dsl.pipex.com/faq.htm You can install either the Xvid Codec directly or better yet the ffdshow dshowfilter which is infinitely better

Or you can try VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ which doesn't require codecs
