deactivate ISP

How can i deactivate the ISP that was pre-installed on my computer.
I want to activate a new ISP but i keep getting an error message saying the remote computer would not connect.

I assume your using dialup? If so you can just remove the dial up networking connection for that particular ISP and set up a new one for the other ISP you want.
