Default Laptop Estimate

Im looking to buy a laptop with the following stats...

-512mb GEforce graphics card
-2gb of ram
-atleast a 2ghz duel core processor (amd or intel doesnt really matter to me)
-17 inch widescreen
-dvd player/program (blueray not needed)
-320gb hard drive althought 250 would probably be just fine (used and wiped to saved money if needed)
-windows xp OS (havent tryed vista, but if youre a vista fan and think its worth it id be fine with giving it a try)
-a nice wireless card that wont lag

also if anyone could offer me an alternative price on a 19'' screen, 4gb of ram, and a 1gb GEforce card for comparison that would be great.

if you know a nice processor for a good price that is above 2ghz that would be perfectly fine, but id like to keep this thing as cheap as possible.

im going into college and i plan to use this computer for school, games, and media. Really the only game i play online is world of warcraft so my computer doesnt need to be all that great, but i do want a solid computer that runs it smoothly. If you think i need some adjustments to these stats feel free to say so, personally i think a 1gb video card and 4gb of ram are overkill.

im not very concerned with name brand items and im ok with used parts as long as they are in good condition. also im not very concerned about looks or size.

thanks for the help, any estimates are appreciated

edit: this is probably a stupid question, but i wouldnt be able to use my old desktop hard drive would i? if not would it be possible to transfer my window's xp copy from that drive to the new one?

No, you cant sue a desktop hard drive in a laptop, the only stupid question is the question that isnt asked For a laptop, i would recommend an asus laptop, but what kinda budget are you looking at? Just a ballpark estimate is great

Dont skimp on a power supply,if it fails, it usually takes out other components alongside it.

im looking to spend under $1500 (although $1500 would be pretty painful lol) mainly im just looking for the cheapest possible laptop with the requirements im looking for. Nothing great just something that will get the job done (run wow well mainly and store all of my files etc)

ive been looking into this more and im finding it hard to find a site that will let me fully customize a laptop. every site has unneeded features like a webcam, bluetooth hookup, etc. can anyone offer me some advice please? i know a computer store by me that ive bought from, but a laptop isnt the kind of thing you build is it? kind of need a brand if im not wrong, but idk i dont know much about computers. well thanks for the help ahead of time

oh and one more question, xp or vista?

also id like a good battery life but im not sure what the norm for laptops is

again my main concern is price, i want to lower price as much as possible by customizing the laptop to do only what i need it to do and by avoiding expensive brand names.

i was thinking about getting

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GX730-043U...0714580&sr=1-1

or

http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7750-...wconfigure=yes

since theyre cheaper but i was wondering is the integrated graphics card on the msi as good as a geforce, or atleast comparable? Also it doesnt give the option for a 512 on the sager but id really like to have a 512, is this possible?

Imo Asus makes the best windows laptops, and this one is a sweet deal. Integrated graphics will be smoked by pretty much any dedicated graphics card, there really isn't a comparison.
