I have now reformatted my PC and reinstalled World of Warcraft, which was one of the games having the lag issue and I still have the same problem.

E.g: my FPS can be hovering around the 50-55 mark. Then all of a sudden drop to 10 fps. If I alt tab to Task manager it doesnt show the WoW.exe using any more processing power. I still use about 62% cpu usage (Same kinda number - regardless of lag)

So, I can only guess that I have some hardware issue somewhere, if after reformatting I stil lhave the issue.

Do you guys agree?

Gta and Far cry are quite demanding,I wouldnt be suprised if your cpu is causing the bottleneck.

But yeah try lowering the settings.

But what would cause this to change all of a sudden? When I was able to play the games quite happily - it struggles on something like Trackmania now, which it never did before!

Maybe you should update all the drivers? And you should get a 600/700 watt PSU anyway, just to be safe. And it sounds stupid, but I've known several people who had a problem with there computer, and they took apart the computer and put it back together and it worked again :]
Anyways don't trust me, idk why you got lag
