Default Help please

hey i have a what would nearly be a 3 year old hp nc6310 laptop its started making a high pitched noise

its still under warrenty till october

but can any u guys explain what it is ? as i am totally dump when it comes to computers

the noise happens when it euns on the battery then does when i plug it in so weird ????

1. It could be CPU Fan.
2. It Could be HDD.

ok so best plan is back up everything then send it off to hp then ? my question is it easy fixed ?
