Default connection interuptions

hi there.
i have had a great connection speed with my cable isp. however once every couple hours it seems to disconnect shortly ( like 2 min) and reconnect. i have a router and connected through ethernet cables. i am almost positive it isnt my isp.. anything i can check for that might be causing this?

I have something very similar and when it disconnects the online light disappears and the send light flash's. I then have to disconnect the cable from the modem and reconnect it and it usually works again it is very annoying though and also would like some advice on this?

Try just using the cable modem and not the router. If the problem goes away, you may be having some connection issues with the router. Make sure the connections are clean on the router also, no corrosion....this would the first steps I would take.
