Honestly i would not invest and trust everything on one drive even if it a $1.00. several drives works for me. A large company is the only one that would want to deal with it that i know of. Last edited by tremmor; 05-04-2009 at 09:16 PM. |

I saw that in cpu magazine, if you havent seen there is a drive called the "FusionIO" that is also pci-express, costs upwards of $13,000, and is only 320gb. OCZ also plans on releasing a 4tb model by the end of the year from what CPU said, prices should drop soon though, i imagine that many of the retailers are just price gouging at the moment. Plus if im not mistaken the Z-drive is actually faster than the fusionIO.
Edit: Found a fusionIO, this is the cheapest ive seen one for yet: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...722&lid=628335

Well, there are places where high capacity fast ssd's are good, such as on video editing rigs, or in a place where you need a pc to be as silent as possible, eg- no sound from hard drives. Also, when multitasking a fast hard drive helps a good amount, no doubt if i had the money to spend on something like that i would probably have one in my rig lol. But i think im gonna wait about 2-3 years once the price/gigabyte is similar to hard drives.
