Default how can I set router to block p2p programs?

I have several computers connected to the router. Everytime my friend uses p2p program it causes the router to go crazy and need to be reseted. when its not using p2p, it works fine.
is there anyway for me to set the router to block p2p program at least for some time so not to reset the router every 5 min?
he says its not the downloading but hardware...yeah but if he don't download it works fine for everyone
the router is Linksys BEFSR41
thanks if somebody could help

Depends on the ports he's using for his P2P. Try blocking the following ports: 4662.12882.6881-6891, 6667,7000
