Default Hey

The driver tests your hardware's capability to deal with the frequencies that you have selected. I have the same error message when I take it too far. Sometimes, some cards are already clocked to their limit and simply will not take more.

Are you sure your video card can handle overclocking? What kind of cooling system do you have on your card?

So they sold it and named it a 5500 when actually it's just a 5200 OC?

I have an XFX 5200 128Mb and can overclock it far more than to the speeds of a 5500. In fact it is running now, overclocked an obscene amount. I do have a PCI exhaust up against the side of it though, so it may be temp related.

Sometimes....good cooling can make a huge difference. However, with your card, I would not think it would be worth investing into quite expensive cooling. I would leave the frequencies as they are and be happy it works. Afterall, I do not think the performance increase by overclocking your card would greatly increase.
