Best possible multi-use build for $1500?

I need a versatile multi-use (gaming is a big one) build for $1500.
Everything except a monitor, and preferably running vista home premium
I want to include an i7 and (a) good GPU(s). I just don't know enough about the latest hardware to choose the parts myself. Thanks to anyone who helps!

You can SLi/ Crossfire in future. However, if you running monitor less than 1920 x 1200, I don't see the necessity of SLi/ Crossfire. Try it first before you get the second video card.
