I made a makeshift surround sound system with normal speakers as left and right, an old radio as the centre/subwoofer, and a normal pair of speakers as left and right rear connected by a long cable that I soldered ends onto (possibly soldered them wrong). When I play a song, there is a distinct lag and a difference in the audio when it gets to the rear speakers. It is as if there is a live band in front of me and I can hear the sound reflecting off a wall behind me (most distinct when playing the cymbals)
Is this because of: 1) my soldering job and a long cable 2) the way windows tries to make it sound cool when I am doing surround sound (I am using default drivers) 3) the songs are configured to sound realistic in a surround sound environment
