Unless it's over your budget, tomorrow you'll be interested in the K-7, I can almost guarantee it.

Among other reasons, I wouldn't get that camera because of lenses available... it's also only 6.1 megapixel, and though you don't necessarily NEED over 6.1 megapixels, it's nice to have more. You'd probably be better off with the K200D you were looking at previously.

Damn straight! Is that the official name though?

Yeah, price is my main concern. There's one on eBay with 1 day left @ $225 but a lot may happen in 1 day.

I don't think it's official, but everyone seems to be pretty sure of it for whatever reason.

Yeah, tell me about it... I kinda need a DSLR by the end of this month (well, I don't ABSOLUTELY need it, but it'd sure be nice), but I can't really afford the K200D at the moment. Maybe I should sell my S700... wasn't someone on the forums here interested in buying one?

And didn't teamhex want an S700, or was that my imagination? I may just have to consider doing that, although I'd kinda like to keep my current camera for a while, but we shall see!

Konica Minolta isn't even around anymore. They were sold to Sony back in '06.

Because of that, they might not offer support for that camera anymore.

Okay, it's officially the Pentax K-7 now: http://www.pentaximaging.com

You might not be able to access their site right now as it's extremely slow, probably from an unusual amount of traffic. Or maybe they're still working on updating their website.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and unfortunately it looks like it's gonna be a bit pricey.

Yeah but it still looks like an amazing camera for the price.

Just thought I'd show you this since you said price was a big issue:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Pentax-K110D-18-55mm-6-1-MP-Digital-SLR-Camera_W0QQitemZ200334441854QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDig ital_Cameras?hash=item2ea4dcfd7e&_trksid=p3286.c0. m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301% 3A0|293%3A4|294%3A50

If 6.1MP doesn't bother you and you plan on using an external flash you just might want to get it or something similar.
