I've heard from Praetor that Intel is better for video-editing. Also, I am getting a good video card that should compensate for the 64 bit. I honestly don't really understand OCing. Is it something you control? Also, would I not be able to do it with the above? By the way, I got a 6600 GT video card instead of a 6600, and I also got a little bit better mobo.
Thanks,
Derek

I'm no expert on overclocking but you should be able to OC that setup. For real expertise on overclocking you would have to talk to someone else or see Praetor's Overclocking 101 thread.

Prescott processors run pretty hot, so big overclocking with stock cooling may not be very wise (or worth it because you will then need a better heatsink and CPU cooler).

By the way, why don't you add a PCI IDE card in so you can hook up more PATA drives with that motherboard?

(Maybe get a CD-ROM drive or a DVD-ROM drive to view DVD's and DVD movies without wearing out your burning drive.....or put more PATA hard drives in, in the future.)

I won't be doing big overclocking, just maybe a boost every once ina while. The board I got has 2 SATA slots, and that would be all I need. Also, I think I am going to get a cheap dvd/cd rom. I am way under budget... (I ordered my computer today)

For video editing and gaming I will strongly reccommend AMD.
Well for gaming, AMD would be the clean choice there but not for video editiing. And thats not to say gaming on Intel silicon isnt possible

That was the Precott cored Pentium 4 2.8-3.4 procesossors that had the heat issues ... not the Pentium 4 5xx and 6xx series
