How to determine maximum RAM

Hello,

I have a 2.4Ghz Celeron and my motherboard is a pnp0c01 and I am having trouble determining the maximum RAM my board can handle. I would like to up it to 2gb but am worried I may blow the board.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

For me 1 GB is fine.

I'm not happy with 1gb, I want 2gb of RAM and would like to know if it is possible.

@ linguist: How many RAM slots does your motherboard have? And is that 1gb one stick or 2x512? You can usually fill up all the slots, however then the RAM will drop to a lower speed.

I have 2 slots, 1 has a 512 and the other a 256. I want to buy two 1gb cards, but do not know if the motherboard will take it. If it won't, I don't want to spend the money or risk damaging the board.

You must be more specific about the manufacturer and model of your motherboard.

I know I am being dense here, but I'm not sure where to find this information. I got the model number by doing:

With the scarce data we have, it seems that your motherboard supports 2GB memory, because it has the SIS 661 Chipset, and FSB 400, and the memory is DDR 333.
