Default Connection Problem

Hey guys, I have a Canon ZR85 camcorder that i would like to take video from and put on my HP dv5-1235dx laptop. The only problem is that my new laptop doesn't have a firewire port that i am used to from this camera. Is there anyway i can get around this?

if you need more information just let me know. Thanks

i checked and its using an sd card. you can goto radio shack, target where ever. just plug into a usb port. reader is about $15.00. i bought one from target that will take 10 different kinds of cards.

yeah, there is a SD card, but i want to take the film off of the mini DV tapes. You can only store a small amount of video on the card i have. So how can i transfer the tape from the DV tape to usb?
