Help Jerky Computer !

Hey, I own a windows 98 and after my computer has gone to sleep or been inactive for about 30 minutes it goes jerky and I have to restart, does anyone have any ideas to try?

Does this happen after the screensaver goes on? That could be a problem for some old PCs.
