Default New Build: Vista or Get 7 RC and then wait?

I am (hopefully) going to get my first pc build underway with in the next month and I am wondering if I should just get the Windows 7 RC and then wait for the official Windows & release, or should I buy a Vista copy? I would want to have many programs to be able to run ASAP that I know will run on Vista.

So should I wait for Windows 7 (if I do will I have problems running games and programs that currentally run on Vista?) or should I just buy Vista?

If it runs on vista it shouldnt have any problems on windows 7. Heck, i play a game from '99(combat flight simulator) that runs fine in 64bit windows 7. Its also my current 24/7 os for the rig in my sig.

Dont skimp on a power supply,if it fails, it usually takes out other components alongside it.

What do you mean "Should i wait for windows 7?"...download the RC of Ultimate x64 now and when its up buy it.

Dont go with Vista....7 is so much better.

Just get the RC and find out what you can run and what you can't.

Then buy an OS based on that info.

It will cost you nothing to try the RC so why not find out for sure?

Well it depends on if you want to spend the money on vista or use a free operating system. Vista is a fine operating system and if it will run on Vista it will run on 7. I personally use Vista, but that's because I don't care for the new look...yet of 7. I think it really depends on what you wanna do.
