Default Ext HD Cannot copy files in

At first my pc suddenly cannot detect the external HD, then it detected after multiple times of trying (plug and unplug).

But it said cannot access must format HD before I can access it.

I formatted it and but now got this problem...

When I tried to copy files to my external HD, it took almost an hour and sometimes it hang! The file is only 200MB.

When I tried to format it again with /q option It said was unable to format.
When I tried to format it. C:\format e: It showed 0% after half an hour.

What's wrong with my ext HD?

Please help.

Perhaps it has a bad sector. Run CHKDSK and scan for/attempt fix errors and bad sectors. Also try defragmenting it.

Trying chkdsk.
The type of the file system is NTFS.
the first ntfs boot sector is unreadable.
Reading second NTFS boot sector instead.
all ntfs boot sectors are unreadable. Cannot continue.

I also tried Seagate Diagnostics Tools for Windows.

All checks(SMART Check, Short Drive Self Test, Long Drive Self Test, Short Generic, Long Generic) failed.
