Converting files problems...please help!

To put it simple, when I'm trying to convert movie files(mpeg,mpg) to dvd or svcd files my computer always freezes. I want to know if ne1 can help me with this problem. Thanks a lot.

I used to have the same problem on my old XP 2100+. It would freeze for a few minutes before it got started. Try waiting a few minutes before giving up. Could be that your system lacks the resources.

Well, my computer is running windows 2000,not xp. I dont know what those resources are. please explain.

what program are you susing to convert the files?

can you not least find your computer specs? this might helps us to understand why your computer freezes during conversion

Well, I would tell you guys all the info that you need except I'm not good with computers. I dont know any of the specs of my computer All I'm sure about is that I'm trying to convert on pinnacle instant CD/DVD.
